Fair enjoyment
South Limburg breathes burgundy and friendliness. We believe this can be done responsibly, which is why our catering staff are constantly looking for sustainable alternatives.
The Gulpener beer is brewed locally by the most sustainable beer brewer in the Netherlands. And we have been serving only vegetarian croquettes for years, grilling meat with the ‘beter leven’ (better living) label and using locally produced sausages. These pigs are allowed to free-roam all their lives and are fed organic nutrition. Did you know that even the cheese on our locally baked buns is completely organic? We don’t sell fish. The coffee and tea are supplied by Blanche Dael and are 100% Rainforest Alliance certified.
No palm oil
For palm oil production, ancient forests are cut down on a large scale, especially in Indonesia and Malaysia. Palm oil plantations are established on the cleared land. As a result, orang-utans, rhinos, elephants and tigers and many dozens of smaller animal species, among others, lose their home.
At GaiaZOO, you can enjoy your fries made from sustainable Farm Frites carefree. We fry electrically in 100% European sunflower oil. And that is super important for animals and nature! Combined with regular cleaning of the frying grease (making it last longer before it is eventually recycled into biofuel), fries in GaiaZOO taste even better!
